I use onions every day in my cooking and have actually grown them in the past. A close relation of garlic, the onion has been used historically as a cure-all.
A cut onion would be used to cleanse the air of a sick room and placed on wounds as an antiseptic on a WW2 battlefield.
A raw cut onion or its juice is a kitchen folk remedy for stings, boils, warts and even earache whilst internally, eating them in your food helps digestion.
Eaten raw in salads etc, onions are good for the fight against arthritis, colds, catarrh and a host of other health issues so keep on eating those onions…they are oh so good for you!!
