Simple Beach spells

This is the time of year that we all end up at a beach at sometime. So use the power of the sea to enhance your life. This is so simple, you will not believe that something so easy can work. But if you believe it will work, it will.

When the tide is coming in, visualise your need. Then find a stone on the beach and use it to draw your need upon the sand. Whether it is a love heart (for love and friendship) or two entwined (a relationship), a pound sign (for money), a pentagram (for protection), a fish (for prosperity), or whatever the symbolism means to you, draw it in the sand and surround with a circle.

Then wait for the sea to take it away, visualising your need materialising. It is done. Trust it will materialise and it will. It is a simple as that. Just like writing love letters in the sand. The sea is very powerful- ask any fisherman. Life itself emerged from the sea. It gave life, and it can take it away. Honour its power, respect it’s power and it will oblige with a gift.
Whilst you are at the beach, look out for holey stones- stones that have a natural hole right through, made by the sea itself. These are lucky, if you are lucky enough to find one. Treasure it as a gift from the sea – a symbol of the female force of nature. Remember, the sea is female, and its tides are ruled by the moon, the female deity. And everyone has heard of the female enchantresses of the Sea, the mermaids who lure men to their death. There they go again. Men lost their ships and women are blamed again – so much so that men would not let women on ships – it’s unlucky !!!

By the way, a quick addition…this can also work in snow…same thing, just wait for the snow to melt… after all, its just cold water!! A spell definitely for all seasons don’t you think!!

Beach-combing…and a beach bowlI love walking along a beach, listening to the sound of the waves breaking along the shore. The seashore is that magickal place between land and sea – an aromatic environment with all the elements present. I find it a place to recharge my batteries. A simple walk along the shore for even 10 minutes helps me chill. I always walk looking down for shells and pebbles to take away and have a large bowl for floating candles, which I add these additions to, and burn a large candle on top, bringing the power of the sea home! When you live by the sea, it is natural to reflect that around the home with goodies found washed up by the tide. Start your collection this summer if you don’t have one. It is amazing what nature provides for you. Look for holey stones too – truly magickal stones provided by the sea to protect you and your home.

A sea spell…Magick is easily done without anyone else knowing when you on the beach. A simple spell is as follows:

Walk along the beach and find a stone or shell that stands out to you that has been left by the sea. Hold the item in your power hand (the one you write with) and visualise your need, whatever it be from paying the bills to losing weight to finding that perfect partner…whatever your need is, put all your power into the stone and see your wish coming to fruition. Now sit/stand by the sea and concentrate on your wish. When you are ready, count height waves and on the 9th, throw your stone back to the sea. Releasing the stone releases the power to the sea and your wish is set in motion. It is done…

Another simple spell is to draw a symbol of your need in the sand with a stone or piece of driftwood found nearby. Draw your need (such as £ sign for money, heart for love etc) within a circle near the tideline in the wet sand as the tide is coming in, and let the sea take the symbol away…simples…!! If you can make the sign quickly from small shells collected from the beach, even better…and your need will be set in motion

Shells in magick…

I actually use shells I have collected from the beach for all types of jobs in the home, from holding shampoo and soap to incense to holding collections of tiny crystals. You can also make natural windchimes out of them, working small holes in the shells and hanging them from fishing line or thread. Have a go with the kids with some nice shells and keep them busy in holidays!! When complete, hang at your front door, as shells at the entrance of your home will ensure luck to all who enter…not bad eh? Magickally, place beautiful shells and/or driftwood on your altar as a symbol of water. Finding a piece of driftwood that can be made into your wand makes it a truly magickal tool (mine came from a peat bog in Ireland). Dry it slowly and it is good to go infused with the power of the sea!!

Beach-combing…and a beachy tea light

Most people will find themselves at the seaside at some point over the summer as it is traditional to head for the water for summer fun and frolic. I love walking along a beach, and an overnight stop off near a small village with the sea in front of us was far too tempting to me. So, whilst he was fixed on something to do with technology, I went for a walk to the beach. The seashore is that magickal place between land and sea, but this was a surprise even to me, as the beach was made up of small quartz pieces. I found it a place to sit and recharge my batteries whilst selecting special tiny quartz. A simple walk along the shore for even 10 minutes helps me chill but this beach kept me mesmerized for several hours. I always walk looking down for shells, pebbles and holey stones to take away home but I found these beautiful stones to make my magickal holder for tea-lights. I added the tiny white quartz to the bottom of a couple small jars, a couple pretty little shells too and added a tea-light on top, bringing the power of the sea to my motor-home! If I add essential oil to the tea lights when burning, the little holder will bring protective, elemental magick to dining on our travels.  When you live by the sea, it is natural to reflect that around the home with goodies found washed up by the tide. Start your collection this summer if you don’t have one and make these magickal lights for your outside dining. It is amazing what nature provides for you. Look for holey stones too – truly magickal stones provided by the sea to protect you and your home. Another remote beach, after a wild stormy night, presented 5 holey stones to us which I brought home with pride and placed one on the altar, 3 around my home and the baby one in the motor-home for protected magickal travelling!
