Cleansing your crystals
Cleansing your crystals is one of the most important steps in crystal healing, to relieve them of the energies they have soaked up, not to mention the dust!! Firstly, I give clusters & rough crystals a good physical clean as they are prone to collecting dust. Warm soapy water and a soft nail brush is enough to remove the coating of grime. Rinse your crystal collection for a few minutes in cold running water to purify and cleanse them. I then like to leave the crystals outside to dry and regenerate in the sunshine on the grass, to release any remaining energies into the ground whilst being re-generated & enlivened by the sun. Another way is to smudge your collection with clearing/purification incense or with a sage smudge stick.
Once your crystals are cleansed, you need to programme them for the task you would like them to help with. So, say for example, you have just cleansed your peridot as above; you then need to empower it to make you feel full of energy. With the crystal in your power hand, close your eyes and see the result you require (warm, sunny day, skipping along laughing), tense your body and pour that power into the stone until you can hold the crystal no longer…and release!! I personally always stand in front of my altar for this after having cleansed my crystals on a giant cluster overnight. Now pop the stone in your bra/pocket or, if jewellery, put it on. Wear or carry daily, repeating this action every day until the outcome required has been achieved…excellent!!
